Expeditions - Europe and Africa
Climbing Expeditions to Russia and Tanzania
While most of the climbing in Western Europe is done alpine style, rather than expedition style, many western climbers who climb Mt. Elbrus do so in organized expedition groups. Africa, not traditionally a major destination for climbers, is home to Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, and in recent years has become a destination for adventure rock climbers.
Both Elbrus and Kilimanjaro are in the Seven Summits, and both expeditions have significant cultural as well as climbing interest.
