Crevasse rescue is a mandatory skill for all mountaineers. Even on the easiest routes, the inability to quickly extract a fallen climber from a crevasse can be disastrous. The introductory courses listed below, from 3 to 12 days in length, all contain a full practical crevasse rescue component, as well as all the prerequisite skills, including self-arrest, glacier travel, knots and rope-work, and snow anchors.
