Char Tomlinson
Guides in Washington and Canada. Char grew up in the ancient Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and got her start climbing early on classic east coast crags like Seneca Rocks. After making the move to California to pursue outdoor education, she started climbing in the Sierra and has never looked back. She is a graduate from UC Berkeley Geography where she studied mapping, geomorphology and geographic theory, with a keen interest in topography and anticolonial mapping practices. When she’s not in the alpine, you might find her doing silly dynamic boulder problems, climbing the tallest trees she can find, or playing hacky sack. Her favorite climbing areas are Tuolumne, Joshua Tree, Yosemite Valley, and the Dolomites. Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor.
