Arran Walton
Arran manages the Institute’s programs in the desert Southwest, Eastern Sierra, Colorado, South America, French Alps, and other foreign countries, and also works in the Institute’s gear shop. He enjoys being able to support the Institute’s guides who live far from the AAI headquarters, as well as connecting with local climbers in Bellingham.
Originally from the east coast, Arran began climbing at small crags around the Appalachians, but has since moved to the west to pursue climbing in the Cascades and Canada. Before joining the Institute, he guided river and sea kayaking in North Carolina and in Washington. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Studio Art from the University of Lynchburg.
