The Alaska Range offers some of the finest ski mountaineering terrain on earth—vast glaciers, technical peaks, steep descents, and true expedition climbing in a remote wilderness environment. This program is designed for experienced backcountry skiers and splitboarders seeking to build high-level mountain skills while traveling deep into glaciated alpine terrain. Under the guidance of professional ski mountaineering guides, students will develop expedition systems, glacier travel techniques, crevasse rescue skills, and efficient movement on snow, ice, and steep terrain. Along the way, participants will climb and ski multiple peaks while gaining the experience, judgment, and confidence required for ambitious objectives in Alaska and beyond.
Highlights:
- Build a strong foundation in glaciated ski mountaineering, including rope travel, crevasse rescue, camp systems, and efficient movement in complex alpine terrain.
- Train in a true expedition environment designed to prepare you for major objectives such as Denali, Vinson Massif, and Aconcagua.
- Climb and ski multiple peaks in the Alaska Range under the mentorship of experienced professional ski mountaineering guides.
- Develop technical mountain systems alongside advanced ski and splitboard travel techniques for steep snow, variable conditions, and remote terrain management.
- Improve uphill efficiency, pacing, and load management while traveling with sleds and heavy expedition packs across glaciated terrain.
