Pro Deal Program

Retailers, suppliers, manufacturers, and climbing gyms each play an important role in helping people become climbers and through the seasons, help them remain safe and comfortable as they explore and climb crags and mountains.  We appreciate the role you play, and to show it, we offer you special discounts on selected AMGA accredited instructional courses and guided climbs.

The staff at the American Alpine Institute invite you to join our Climbing Industry Pro-Deal Program.  We are committed to serving professionals in the industry with the finest programs available and, through our Pro-Deal offer, we will give you up to 40% off the cost of our programs.  Trips range from 2 to 30 days and are offered at all skill levels, novice through expert, including training for individuals who aspire to guide professionally as well as for current guides looking to enhance their skill sets.

  • Advance technical skills and good mountain judgment of members of our industry
  • Expand knowledge of Leave No Trace ethics and its techniques

 

  • The Pro-Deal Program offers 25% - 40% off most program and rental fees. Most programs in the U.S. qualify, and most Seven Summits, Alps, South America, and Asian programs are excluded. For certain programs a smaller discount applies. All programs are subject to space availability.

 

To Qualify, you must:

  • Be a current employee working 15 or more hours per week in an outdoor sports store, a climbing specialty shop, a commercial climbing gym, or a company that manufactures or distributes climbing, bike, or ski equipment; or an independent sales rep for a climbing, ski, or bike manufacturer or distributor; AND
  • Be returning to your job after completion of your AAI program.
     

How To Register

  • 1) Visit www.alpineinstitute.com to find a program that interests you or ask us to mail you our catalog. Contact us at [email protected], or (360) 671-1505.
  • 2) Furnish two proofs of employment. AAI must receive this information prior to or with your registration: 1) a photocopy of a recent pay stub, and 2) a note from your company that indicates the length of your employment and that you are working at least 15 hours a week.
  • 3) Meet all the prerequisites for the course or guided trip you are requesting.  See our website for individual program requirements.
  • 4) Submit a completed AAI program registration form.
  • 5) Be consistent with industry standards and show respect for other climbers in the program by keeping the Pro-Deal Program confidential, except within the mountaineering industry.
  • 6) Agree to AAI's standard cancellation and refund policies described on the registration form.
