Andrew called at 1:30 PST on 6/22 with the following dispatch:
Another beautiful day at 14,000′ camp, however there are some clouds
that look like mare’s tails, which can mean wind or precip, so were
trying to get as much accomplished as we can on a nice day like today.
So we woke up early, ate some breakfast, got in some fixed line practice
and are now heading up the fixed lines. We are putting our cache up
above the fixed lines with food and fuel so we can lighten our load for
the real camp move. We are actually getting roped up here and ready to
go, everyone is here, tapping their feet and yelling at me to hurry up
with this call so we can get going and do this.
Geoff, Selina, Paul,
Brian and myself, all went and did a back carry and everyone did
awesome. We even got Paul Rosser’s 1980’s heavy equipment. So some of
us yesterday got some exercise, and some got some rest, but we’re all
ready to go make this cache now. We can’t really get a lockdown on the
weather right now, so we’re trying to make the best of the day while we have
this window.
We’ll leave a voicemail tomorrow with messages. Talk to you soon!
