Andrew called at 7:45 pm on June 6^th with this dispatch:
“Good evening! This Andrew calling from Base Camp. We just got done with a lovely dinner of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and fresh veggies. We had a small desert, too. It was an absolutely gorgeous day today – totally bluebird — as we practice skills and went though the process of rigging our sleds. We were surrounded by Mt. Hunter and Mt. Foraker in the background. It was a nice day to take time some time to acclimatize. The team is just now getting ready to go to bed, as we plan to do a 3 am departure to get to the first camp. The night climbs allow us to take advantage of the colder weather so we can travel safely. We’ll call you from Camp 1. Everyone says hi to friends and family back home. Bye!”.
