–SnowBrains is reporting on Oregon’s liability laws and their impact on ski resorts. “Timberline Lodge announced an explanation for increased prices, citing the state’s broken recreational liability system, which has made it difficult for insurers to operate. The resort has secured new coverage for the upcoming ski season, but at a substantial cost. Liability premiums have risen 166% this year, deductibles are ten times higher, and overall insurance costs have increased 586% since 2020. As a result, Timberline will need to raise some prices, including peak lift tickets and certain season passes, while trying to absorb as much of the financial burden as possible.” To read more, click here.
