Tyler Olson
Hailing from the plains of Kansas, Tyler first found his way west working as a zipline guide in Southern Nevada. After a stint in the armed forces and time finishing a degree in Environmental Science, he moved to Jackson Hole where he was a wildlife guide in Grand Teton National Park. Looking up at the mountains he was inspired to move into technical guiding and moved to Alaska for a position as an ice climbing guide on the Matanuska Glacier. There, Tyler discovered his real passion for instructing people and making them both feel more confident and connected to the natural world around them. Now he is living and working in Bellingham, exploring all the Cascades have to offer. When he isn’t out climbing, he enjoys shouting (occasionally correct) answers to Jeopardy! TV questions, cooking and cheering on his wife’s roller derby team.
