Isabelle Wassille

Isabelle (Izzy) was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, where she spent most of her climbing career. At 16, Izzy began her guiding journey by leading dog mushing tours on Alaskan glaciers, igniting her passion for the mountains. Around the same time, she developed a keen interest in backcountry snowboarding, focusing on mastering more technical lines.

At 18, Izzy completed a 12-day guide training in Haines, AK, which introduced her to snowboard mountaineering. Since then, she has guided on the Juneau Icefield and supported field research with the Denali Education Center. She now dedicates her springs to ice climbing in Valdez and training as a heli-ski guide in the Chugach Mountains.

Izzy has also pursued climbing and snowboarding in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, California, and Washington. When not in the mountains, she enjoys fishing, painting, and spending time with dogs.
