Emily Cavanagh
Emily has worked in outdoor education since 2015 and has a deep appreciation for the transformative power of wild places. She works predominantly in snow covered, alpine or glaciated environments, whether in boots, snowshoes or on skis. She is passionate about the empowering potential of expeditions, as folks gain competence and confidence through skill building and hands on experience with risk assessment and decision making, and are therefore more equipped to handle a variety of challenges in everyday life. Emily is originally from New York state but has been a nomad since graduating from Vermont’s Middlebury College as a ‘Feb’ in early 2015. Some of her favorite life highlights include bike touring the length of New Zealand, instructing a 30 day course on the Chilean Patagonia Northern Ice Field and milking goats for a season in Taos, New Mexico.
