“Hi! This is Mat just calling to check in. Things are pretty uneventful at Base Camp right now — we’re just waiting for the planes to come get us. We’ve been here about 24 hours, and it’s looking like we might be stuck here another day. The weather looks totally dismal and it’s just really, really foggy. There are about 30 people here waiting, too. I’ll call you tomorrow. Wish us luck!”.
